From Bengaluru, Karnataka, Upasana Sarraju is a molecular-biologist-turned-science-writer with a love for animal welfare, humid weather, and comfortable sandals. She is a FAST India Science Book Fellow and holds a Master’s in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University. She can poorly mimic various animals such as squirrels and sea lions. For reasons unrelated, she has visited the local police station too many times.
Her previous writings on animal welfare, biology, and the human condition have been featured in The Science Writer, Hindustan Times, The Bombay Literary Magazine, The Xylom, and others. She is currently working on her debut nonfiction book, represented by A Suitable Agency and forthcoming from Penguin Random House India.
