
Devika Rege was born and raised in Pune. She completed her undergraduate studies at Mumbai University and holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. She has taught creative writing seminars and courses at St. Xavier’s College (Mumbai) and Azim Premji University. She lives in Bengaluru.
Rege’s debut novel Quarterlife, represented in the Indian subcontinent by A Suitable Agency, came out in India in 2023, where it was a finalist for five literary awards and won the Mathrubhumi Book of the Year and the Ramnath Goenka Sahitya Samman. Quarterlife was published internationally in 2024-25. It has been named a best book of the year by over a dozen publications including The Hindu and The New Yorker.
