Prathyush Parasuraman is a cultural critic and writer with words in Film Companion, The Hindu, Verve, Firstpost and News9. He writes ‘Counter Culture’, a column in the bi-weekly Frontline magazine, on cinema, literature and the broader zeitgeist. He is also the curator for Cinema House, a monthly film programme at the G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture. He has aided Parmesh Shahani in the research for Queeristan: LGBTQ Inclusion In The Indian Workplace and currently assists Devdutt Pattanaik in his projects related to Indian arts, culture, and heritage.
He is currently writing a series of monographs, in collaboration with Film Companion, on the groundbreaking work of three great filmmakers—Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Mani Ratnam and Mira Nair. Represented by A Suitable Agency, these monographs will be published by Penguin Random House India.
