Rohit Chawla is one of India’s leading contemporary photographers. His work is part of several museums and private collections around the world. His various solo exhibitions have included Wanderlust, Tribute to Raja Ravi Verma, Klimt – The Sequel, Free da! – The Homage, World of Wearable Art, Goa Style & The Inspired Frame , Artist – Unboxed , The Quiet Portrait, Untangling the Politics of Hair and the Banned Books exhibition in 2024. He is also the visiting industry dean for photography at AAFT University.

Rohit spent close to two decades in advertising at JWT as the National Film Chief and Creative Director before moving out to start his own design and film production company. In his editorial avatar as the erstwhile Creative Director for India Today and Open magazine, he has conceptualized and photographed over 400 magazine covers.

Rohit’s most recent photographic work won India its first ever prestigious Industry Craft Gold Lion at Cannes in 2023, besides winning the Grand Prix at Spikes Asia for design in 2024, and another Grand Prix at Abbies in June 2024.

A culinary aesthete, Rohit also enjoys food photography and has done three coffee table books, The Indian Accent Cookbook,  The Fine Art of Food  and The Bangla Table from Chettinad. He divides his time between Goa and Delhi and continues his extensive editorial and advertising practice.
