Vandita Dubey, a trained clinical psychologist, wrapped up her psychotherapy practice and left Gurgaon with her husband and two young children for a small Himalayan village in Uttarakhand. This was in March 2015. She started a fledgling online practice and also provided mental health services to people in the village. Her first book, Parenting in the Age of Sexposure, was published in 2016, the same year she and her husband co-founded The Himalayan Writing Retreat.

Vandita has worked for over 25 years in the mental health field and has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from ISPP, Chicago. She has written blog posts, been quoted in print media, and has conducted talks, workshops and retreats for individuals and organizations on various aspects of mental health.

Her forthcoming book, Be the Change: A Guide to Transforming Your Life and Work, looks at work from the perspective of finding the joy in it, and outlines the connection between work, lifestyle and social conditioning. Based on her own experiences and on interviews with individuals and families who have made radical changes in their personal and professional lives, this book addresses all those who feel significantly dissatisfied with their life and work, and gives a road map to how these can actually be transformed.
